A man has died after collapsing and being swept away from a golf course in Australia’s north-west.
Police said the 52-year-old man was a regular at the Oakley Golf Club in the town of Invergordon.
“He was part of the club for many years and was a well-known figure in the community,” police said.
“His death is a tragic loss for the community.”
The man’s family said the man had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
The club is a popular spot for weekend boozers, with many of them taking the course as a safe haven from the city.
