The U.S. Golf Association has released the Top Ten golf courses in the country, and for the first time since it began tracking the number of golf courses per 100,000 residents in 2004, the number is up.
The association says that in the United States, there are now about 1,000 golf courses and about 4,400 total golf courses.
That number is still down from the 4,600 courses that were measured in 2004.
The list includes some of the more popular courses, including the world-famous Golf Links at the San Francisco Bay and the California Country Club in Napa Valley, as well as the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links and the popular Palm Springs Golf Links in California.
But many of the smaller courses have also risen in popularity, such as the golf courses of The Ranch in Utah and the golf course of St. Joseph in Kansas City.
The top 10 golf courses are:The Top Ten is based on Golf Course Data Corporation data from July through September, according to the association.
The data includes the number and type of courses, the location and the type of course.
